The B-lines are haulin' now, I take it. She looks like she's out of the 70s, flower child with a rough edge. Little pig tails wrapped with leather lace loops, army green coat with patches of course and big bangs.
They talk of downtown, the West End, of streets they are all getting wrong. A boy across from her stares at me, wondering why I'm carrying a jar of coffee I'm sure.
She goes on, "The West End is my favourite part of town, I have a son now so I live in Burnaby," as she gestures to the boy across from her, "but it's my dream, after he's old and gone, moved out when he's 18, I'm going to move back there and just live, it's my dream." I wonder how her son feels, I wonder if he's even listening.
