The boys in black on the L-shaped teal couch, the girls perched on pillows on the floor. Canada vs. Russia, stout, chips for some, rye for others. They play, I sort of watch. The commercials are the only break in play and they're bad. The television flashes, the display is always brighter for the ads, and I look away. They piss me off, I'm really better off not looking.

He grabs her a pillow like he found me one earlier and she rests on it. We all relax, smoking and drinking the rainy afternoon away.
