April 16th, 2010.

It's sunny and muggy. Commercial Drive is awash in itself.
The skaters blaze their glory down the middle of the pavement, cyclists flap and cars wait.
People meander everywhere, volunteer community cleaners weaving amongst them.
One man collects in his pedestrian aware vest, all neon and apparent.
Another pinches with his tool and covertly tucks garbage into a duffle bag thinking he's being covert (he's not).
Muscles cars clunk by, some strut their stuff and everyone's in their 'I am part of THIS community' attire.
Interests are apparent through dress and eye contact.
An overall sense of welcome exuded amongst open minds.
