Squatting is legal in the Netherlands after a building has been unoccupied for a specific period of time.
Anti-squats are run by businesses who fill unoccupied buildings, rendering squatting that building illegal.
Most of the tenants are squatters or students who pay very little rent (100-200 Euros) in exchange for huge amounts of space.
This particular squat was the full bottom floor of an abandoned office space, including the marble lobby.
With only nine residents, each occupying a space of 1000-1500 square feet, the anti-squat is ideal for students, artists, creativity and gentrification.
